This quaint village is different from all places in Costa Brava. It has almost two thousand residents. Even though it is a really small place, it was a host to many celebrities in its history. Matisse, Picasso, André Derain were just some of the famous artists who visited this peculiar place. Large Harbor During the peak season you may notice numerous boats in the bay. However, there are many people who visit this place by boat and jump into the sea for swimming. Its beach is rough and narrow and thus it is not suitable for swimmers.The climate is pleasant, thus the bay is not windy as in the other neighboring places. Above all, the place is very fancy since people come here “to see” and “to be seen”. Cultural Vacation The main tourist attractions in this village are not beaches, of course. Here you can enjoy galleries and museums too. However, the most interesting is Salvador Dali’s house. Just by the beach Llane Gran is placed Dali’s family house, where he lived as a boy. Above all, it is the place where he met with Lorca and Luis Bunuel and where they made the script for the "the Chien Andalou". In the old town you can see many art galleries and shops that sell various handicrafts. Activities Cadaques is an ideal place for leisure activities and sunbathing. You can also enjoy in a wide range of restaurants, tapas bars and cafes. However, if you like an active vacation, you can really enjoy a rich offer of water sports. Scuba divers can have a great time in the numerous caves in the sea. Furthermore, you can rent a boat and explore the coast on your own. People who love walking have good trails in Cap de Creus and towards the lighthouse. Cap de Creus If you are in Cadaques, a great idea would be to visit Cap de Creus. Cap de Creus is a natural reserve. It includes the sea and the land as well. There is a huge lighthouse which is of great importance to the nautical world. It sends signals at every ten seconds. The coast is rough with many small bays. However, it is also a home of some endangered species of birds. Restaurant Cap de Creus is placed high above the sea at the rocky hill, just seven kilometers from Cadaques. It has a beautiful view of the bay, especially from its terrace. The restaurant is open year round. Even though the restaurant is far away from “civilization”, it has great cuisine and an excellent wine list."}
