History The origin of Manilva history is the New Stone Age or Neolithic period and the ruins are found in about twenty archaeological sites in this area. Art and Culture 1.Roman baths \u2013 are situated in the valley below Manilva; these contain high sulphur content and Romans built these baths 2000 years back. 2.Roman Aqueduct \u2013 is situated along the roadside between the baths and the coast; it is 100 M long and originated by Romans. 3.Castillo de la Duquesa \u2013 is the castle whose walls were built in the year 1767 by Francisco Paulino. King Carlos III, the Spanish King made Paulino the commandant of a cavalry for this effort. Cuisine Popular food items are: 1.Tomato soup - with tomato, black bread, pepper, onion, garlic and sardinitas 2.Gazpachuelo \u2013 a soup with mahonesa 3.Gazpacho - \"MAJA\" with sour orange, olive oil, yearn bread and salt 4.Cabbage based - cooked cabbage, pork and chickpeas 5.Tagarninas soup - with chickpeas 6.Meat in marinade Sports and Entertainment  There are a number of playas or beaches which facilitate various sports activities such as cycling, fishing, football, golf, hiking, horse riding, kite surfing, paddle tennis, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, scuba diving, windsurfing and a mix of various water sports. The following local beaches are popular: 1.Punta Chullera is situated to the west of Manilva and it has a rocky cove at Calataraje arroyo mouth. The waters are shallow and it is popular with Spanish people. 2.Playa de los Torros is a small cove having shell beaches and rocky outcrops. 3.Playa del Gobernador is a sandy beach 850 M long and is good for beach sports. 4.Cala de la Sardina is a small beach located in between two peninsulas that are rocky and is 150 M long."}
