Extremadura is divided into two provinces - Caceres and Badajoz. These places were of extreme importance to Roman Empire, Christian conquistadors and Moorish Sultans. Extremadura's turbulent past's evidence leaches out of countless palaces, castles, aqueducts and medieval monument\u2019s walls. These monuments have weathered through the many storms that passed over this place from centuries.  Other than the fortified walls of Extremadura\u2019s historic cities, one can find infinite tracts of unspoiled countryside that attracts romancing couples from all over the world. An extraordinary sight that attracts bird watchers is Extremadura\u2019s huge population of storks. They build their enormous nests over the top of everything from medieval monuments and telegraph poles to convent roofs and church spires. Extremadura is believed to have homes of approximately 11,000 storks along with a number of rare and cosseted bird species.  Places worth visiting  Merida \u2013 The place preserves several of the most stupendous Roman monuments, including an amphitheatre, a colossal theatre, a bridge and two aqueducts, not to overlook the Roman Art Museum that has some invaluable collection.  Caceres - Upper Extremadura\u2019s capital has a fine-looking old quarter that is enclosed by the walls of Moorish town with watch-towers.  Trujillo \u2013 It is the birthplace of a famous conqueror named Pizarro. The place is well known the beautiful main square it has.  Guadalupe \u2013 A town dominated by an enormous Mudejar style monastery that still preserves the valuable art works.  Badajoz \u2013 It is the Lower Extremadura\u2019s capital that is worth a visit.
