Denia<\/a><\/strong>, located about 85 kilometers from Alicante, is blessed with beautiful beaches and many places of interest. Actually, this town, which has an estimated population of 29000, is dependent on tourism. Of course there are other commercial activities such as fishing. <\/span><\/p>\n

In fact Denia<\/strong><\/a> is one of the few provinces which have huge fleets of modern fishing vessels. It also has ferry service to Mallorca, Ibiza and several other places. Now, this place has become one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Places of interest<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

Like any other part of Spain, even this tiny town Denia has many things to offer tourists so that they will enjoy their stay. There is a Castillo (Castle) which is believed to have been built in the 11th or 12th Century. This castle is just in front of the beach and offers an excellent view. It is a wonderful experience to watch the sea and the nearby places from the top of the castle. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fishermen\u2019s quarters are yet another place which should not be missed. The narrow cobbled roads and buildings perfectly whitewashed take the visitor back in time to the medieval period. Just by the side of the fishermen\u2019s quarters is the ferry terminal to reach the other places along the Costa Blanca<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The main street of the town is called Marquis Street after the Chief who was residing in the Castle. This is a wonderful street with beautiful trees on both sides. In addition, there are parks which offer a quiet environment for the visitor to enjoy his stay. The beach is just within walking distance and many water sports facilities are available. The beach is lined with many restaurants and bars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Denia<\/strong> <\/a>is one of the most ideal places for shopping. Everything under the sun is available in Denia and the goods are most reasonably priced. There are many banks, shopping malls, restaurants, and pubs so that the tourist does not feel homesick.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to reach Denia<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It can be reached by boat from Javea, Altea, etc. One can buy a round-trip ticket. It can be reached either by bus or train. Those who prefer to travel by bus can take any of the buses to Denia<\/strong><\/a>. Car rental is also available from places like Javea. In fact one advantage of travel by car is that en route to Denia there are many places of interest for tourists and these places can also be visited.<\/span><\/p>\n
