Madrid<\/strong><\/a> is the capital of Spain and also stands out as being the largest city in the Hispanic capital.\u00a0 It has many modern features, including a state of the art infrastructure. Museums are one of Madrid’s major attractions – there are more than forty four museums in the city! <\/span><\/p>\n

The most famous three are the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sof\u00eda museum.\u00a0 The other museums generally focus on a specific culture, artist or period in history. So let’s have a glimpse of what is inside some of these historical treasures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Museo Del Prado:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The name means “Museum in the Meadows” and is so named because it is surrounded by lovely green meadows.\u00a0 The Museo<\/strong><\/a> Del Prado is famous throughout Europe for being one of the nicest museums in the world. The museum displays paintings, drawings, sculptures and various other artistic masterpieces. It was built in the 18th Century and continues to attract numerous tourists every year. <\/span><\/p>\n

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof\u00eda: <\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

This is a cultural center. It has an eternal collection of modern day Spanish art, sculptures, videos, photographs. This museum also includes the works of famous painter\u2019s like Pablo Picasso.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This museum is located near to the Prado Museum. It forms a part of the golden triangle of art and has collections of both primitive and modern art. It also displays almost 1 000 carvings and sculptures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Palacio Real<\/a>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This is The Royal Palace itself which was the home for the Spanish Royal Family, and it dates back to the 18th Century.\u00a0 It is most definitely worth a visit when you are touring Madrid<\/a>. It is one of the most popular “museums”. <\/span><\/p>\n

No one resides there now and it is purely a tourist venue, however the public cannot access the whole palace as certain areas are closed off and kept private. The palace is used for most important state functions.\u00a0 The architecture in the palace is an amazing sight to see. There are specific rooms like the Porcelain Room where the walls are actually made of porcelain. The palace also has two beautiful, large gardens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Museo de America <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This museum of America is out of the ordinary as it is filled with works of art which were returned to Spain during the Spanish colonization of America.\u00a0 It displays these artifacts over two floors and most of them are so valuable that they are quite simply “priceless”.<\/span><\/p>\n
