Centuries old buildings known for their architectural elegance are well maintained even to this day, and there is always somewhere else exciting to visit like museums, parks, art galleries, palaces, beautiful sculptures \u2026\u2026.. and more! Every destination in Spain should never be missed – there are endless treats in store for all tourists.<\/span><\/p>\n

The small town of La Linea is one place not to be missed. This small town is very close to Gibraltar. In fact many historians say that the city is closely related to Gibraltar. History goes on to say that Gibraltar used to be a part of Spain but it was lost to an \u2018Anglo Dutch\u2019 fleet way back in 1704. So, La Linea is a relatively new town and already one of Spain<\/a><\/strong>‘s star tourist attractions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Places of interest in La Linea: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This town has a long beach, and as a matter of fact the town is well known for having such a beautiful beach. The beach is shared with Gibraltar. With its fine sand, it is ideal for water sports like wind surfing and skiing. Many people also enjoy competitive fishing. <\/span><\/p>\n

Being at the beach one can also indulge in bird watching as many of them migrate from Europe to Africa every year.\u00a0 It is also the most ideal place to observe dolphins. As a matter of fact, short sightseeing trips on boats are arranged every day to see these beautiful creature live in action.<\/span>\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Fortified Spanish line<\/a>: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This was constructed as per the orders of King Phillip V when he occupied Gibraltar during the 18th Century. The remains of this line can still be seen to this day. This interesting site shows you the bunkers built during World War 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parish Church: This is one place which should never be missed in La Linea. The church is also called “Imaculata Concepcion” and is believed to have been built over an existing mosque between the years 1309 to 1333. The statue of the Virgin and the Child was put up later. It is a small statue measuring about 2 feet in height and is carved in wood. Many miracles are attributed to this most revered statue.<\/span>

La Linea is very popular for delicious seafood dishes such as octopus, snails, bass, dogfish, and calamari. Spain<\/strong><\/a>‘s national dish is called “Paella” and consists of a mixture of seafood and rice. There are innumerable restaurants across the beach and in the main town centre. Needless to say there are many luxurious villas in which to stay.<\/span><\/p>\n
