This small city of Ceuta just near Gibraltar<\/strong><\/a> and facing the Mediterranean Sea measures just about 19 square kilometers but its fame as a place of tourist importance has spread far and wide. This little city is located at a most strategic location for the military. It is also the gateway for trade. It has many places of interest to offer the tourists.<\/p>\n

Many tour operators suggest that one can go round this tiny city by foot. Being located in a strategic position, it is heavily guarded by military and other law enforcing agencies. Helipad services are also available to reach the nearest city.<\/p>\n

Monte Hacho: <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This is one of the most strategic locations of Ceuta. There is a fort on the top of this hill. History says that this hill was used by the Greek army for military operational purposes. This suggests that the fort was built by the Greek. In fact the Spanish Army<\/strong> <\/a>is using the same fort now. It is needless to mention that this hill presents a wonderful view of the sea and the places around it. <\/p>\n

Beach: <\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the most important place of relaxation for tourists. The beach is heavily guarded by the military. Now this beach is being upgraded as a major port but the interests of tourists are not disregarded. Abundant provision has been made for water sports, etc. Of course there are many restaurants and hotels for the comfort of the tourists.<\/p>\n

Places of worship: <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

This small city has many churches. Parroquia De Santa Maria De Los Remedios is one of the oldest churches in Ceuta. This is actually a chapel built out of bricks. Historians believe that this chapel was built by Muslims because it is built in Mudejar architecture. Of course the inside of this chapel is beautifully decorated with many works of art and artifacts.<\/p>\n

Vicaria General Del Obispado De Ceuta, Parroquia De San Francisco<\/strong><\/a> and Parroquia Santa Maria De Africa are the other popular churches which almost every visitor makes a point to visit.<\/p>\n

Another important factor in Ceuta is that most of the buildings here bear Moorish architecture which suggests the influence of Muslims. In fact this place was also under the occupation of Muslim<\/strong> <\/a>rulers for some time. Further, all along the coastline and in the tiny village, there are many villas and hotels which add comfort for the tourists. The restaurants serve specialties made of fish.<\/p>\n
