The Construction of this \u201csurreal temple\u201d began in 1882, but it was never finished. The initial construction plans for it were to be a normal, modest neo-gothic church, but Gaudi transformed it into the most famous architectural monument in Barcelona.<\/a><\/p>\n

Every element of it is carved with symbols inspired from nature. But the most extraordinary thing about it is not the symbols, but the diversity of the colors and materials used to build it (plastic, ceramic, mosaic, iron and different types of stone).<\/p>\n

Its name comes from the president\u2019s name,Santiago Bernabeu<\/a><\/strong>, who loaned money to buy the ground on which it presently resides. Founded in 1902, the stadium has a capacity of 75,342 seats and it became famous throughout the world because of the success of the national team in international competitions.<\/p>\n
