The Canarian village, Las Galletas<\/strong><\/a> is situated on the southern coast of Tenerife Islands. The streets in this place are narrow and sun drenched and they wind to a harbor that is picturesque. You will find a large number fishing boats on the water. People interested in knowing more about the genuine Canarian culture will be pleased to see the pretty squares, boulevards with cafes and the attractive beach front promenade.<\/p>\n

Although this place is mainly meant for tourists, it looks like a small town on the coast; there are very few shops, restaurants and bars and these are distributed along the main pedestrian street inside the town and also along the seafront.<\/p>\n

The large resort \u2013 COSTA DEL SILENCIO<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 near this town has seen continuous development. Lots of ex-pats have opened businesses including bars and restaurants. Since there is no real beach in this village, its growth is dependent on the complex oriented tourism.<\/p>\n

The resort\u2019s name \u2018Coast of silence\u2019 is really a misnomer. An international airport has been opened in the year 1978 and there is noise during the landing and takeoff of various aircrafts. At other times you will find the noise due to concrete mixers and pneumatic drills at the building sites.<\/p>\n

Avenida Tavio Alfonso<\/strong><\/a> is the main road that goes through the resort. There are three commercial centers \u2013 CC trebol, CC El Chaparral, Ten-Bel \u2013 where you will find a number of shops, services, supermarkets, restaurants and bars for purchasing various items you need.<\/p>\n

This town is popular for seafood available in the restaurants of this town. People come from the island to taste the shellfish and freshly caught fish<\/strong><\/a> in the seafood restaurants. The bars in this place are popular with many of the residents and tourists.<\/p>\n

You can hire umbrellas and hammocks in this place to relax yourself whereas at the same time the kids can play to their hearts content. The showers in the open air will help in rinsing the saltwater or sand. You can enjoy yourself in the local bars or cafes.<\/p>\n

In the summer<\/strong><\/a>, the ocean swells creating large waves that are very suitable for surfing. The local surfing community is drawn to this and they swarm the place for surfing. The water is very clear and makes surfing conditions the best.<\/p>\n

The beach as well as the village becomes extremely lively during the night. People with their families take a stroll on the beachfront so that they can enjoy the warm evenings. The air is full of aroma from the restaurants where the Canarian<\/strong> <\/a>and international cuisines are cooked.<\/p>\n

The nightlife in Las Galletas<\/strong><\/a> as well as the Costa del Silencio is different from that of nearby Playa Las Am\u00e9ricas; drinks are served in the large variety of bars in this place late in the night and people go to these bars to see TV programs while eating their tapas.<\/p>\n
