Its mountain range is as high as 2000 meters with bizarre canyons, making it a very diverse landscape, with <strong>different climates<\/strong> across different geographical zones.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Las Palmas de Gran Canaria <\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubvillamar.com\/blog\/beautiful-la-palma-spain-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>This capital<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, with 352,641 inhabitants, has a <strong>highly unique architecture<\/strong> which displays the 5 continents\u2019 influence together with its colorful houses. The feisty ambience is proof of the slow pace of cool climate living. Its <strong>great culture<\/strong> and <strong>delectable cuisine<\/strong> sets this city on the<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.clubvillamar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> international map.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Places of Interest<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">This city boasts a Gothic cum Neoclassic cathedral, which was constructed after America was discovered. At the <strong>square of Santa Ana<\/strong> are the Archiepiscopal Palais and Canarian architecture buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The Barrio de<strong> la Vegueta<\/strong> holds many Latin-American manorial houses of colonial design. There is a contemporary art collection at the local museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>La Casa de Col\u00f3n, or Columbus\u2019 home,<\/strong> houses Columbus\u2019 ships that stopped here while on the way to America.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The <strong>Canarian Museum<\/strong> or Museo Canario exhibits the entire exposition of the Guanches, the islands&#8217; first inhabitants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">We have <strong>Pueblo Canario at Doramas Park<\/strong>, which is a beautiful garden. It was created by N\u00e9stor de la Torre, who was a Canarian artist, and it represents the typical architecture of the island. There are colorful, traditional performances every Thursday and Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Other places of interest include the <strong>Art Museum<\/strong>, the <strong>P\u00e9rez Gald\u00f3s Museum<\/strong>, and the Nestor-Museum. Also available is the <strong>Canarian Garden<\/strong>, Jardin Canario, just 8km away from Las Palmas. This garden displays no less than 500 species of island flora.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Tracking the Guanches<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">The original inhabitants of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubvillamar.com\/blog\/some-hidden-and-fascinating-places-in-canary-island-that-only-the-natives-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Canary Islands<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>were the <strong>Guanches<\/strong>, and they were known by the Tenerife natives as Guan Chenech. These <strong>mysterious<\/strong> natives are thought to have been very fair skinned and tall. Nothing more can be determined by the historians. Las Palmas Canarian Museum houses some interesting findings from the Guanches. There are traces of their presence on the island, such as <strong>Cueva Pintada<\/strong>, a cave with wall paintings of polychrome geometry style, the<strong> \u2018Holy Mountain\u2019 of the Guanches<\/strong>, Monta\u00f1a Sagrada, with many archaeological findings in Malpais, as well as fishing villages and bays.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">Sight Seeing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">There is an astounding landscape known as <strong>\u2018the petrified storm\u2019<\/strong> around Tejeda. It has green valleys and almond trees at the foothills of the mountainous peaks of Bentayga and Roque Nubo. <strong>Teror<\/strong> is a mesmerizing village, that seems to be <strong>\u2018floating in the air\u2019,<\/strong> as it is 575m above sea level. It has awesome mountain ranges all around. This place is renowned for pilgrimages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Arucas<\/strong> is an old town with a magnificent high coast and quaint bays, together with acres of banana plantations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Santa Mar\u00eda de Guia<\/strong>, in the north of the island, holds many caves full of petrified lava.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">From <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubvillamar.com\/blog\/visiting-agaete\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Agaete<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, you will see a breath-taking canyon landscape of papaya, coffee, banana, and avocado plantations, as well as thermal springs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"font-234077\" style=\"color: #000000;\">At the island\u2019s south lies a<strong> dreamy fishing village<\/strong>, with a great view, as well as a splendid valley of tropical fruit trees.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This island is filled with different European, American, and African vegetation landscapes.
