Lloret, city of the Mediterranean Sea<\/h2>\n

Before it became one of the top holiday destinations in Europe<\/strong>, Lloret de Mar<\/strong> was a seafaring town of sailors and merchants. Some of them, called \u201cIndianos\u201d, made their fortune in the Americas before enriching the town with splendid houses on their return.<\/p>\n

Casa Garriga<\/strong>, which houses the Lloret de Mar Maritime Museum<\/strong><\/a>, bears witness to this former grandeur. Enric Mataro i Garriga had it built when he came back from Cuba, having made a fortune.<\/p>\n

Built in the second half of the 19th<\/sup> century, it is one of the rare houses to have survived, along with the Casa Font<\/strong> or the Ca<\/strong>n Comadran<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
