January 5: <\/strong> Parade of the Three Kings
\n<\/strong>This is an event that will be particularly enjoyable for families on holidays on the Costa Brava<\/strong>! Big and small will enjoy this typically Spanish parade. The tradition of the Three kings<\/strong><\/a> remains strong in Spain and they bring Christmas presents to the children every year! To coincide with this, the towns organise parades with the kings at the centre and they distribute sweets to the spectators as they go along!<\/p>\n

February 20: Carnival in Tossa de Mar

Early June: Euro Mediterranean Food Tourism Congress
\n<\/strong>This bi-annual congress takes place at the same time as the \u201cfideos\u201d festival in Tossa de Mar.<\/strong> Fideos are little vermicelli that are widely used in Catalan cuisine and form the basis for \u201cfideua\u201d, a kind of paella in which the rice is replaced by pasta. This congress is devoted to both European and Mediterranean gastronomy.<\/strong> It is a real treat for foodies and lovers of haute cuisine!<\/p>\n

June 5: Fishermen\u2019s day
\n<\/strong>This festival goes back to the origins of Tossa de Mar<\/strong> by celebrating its fishermen! When the day begins, you can take the traditional breakfast <\/strong>of the men of the sea \u2013 grilled sardine<\/strong>s – on the main town beach<\/a><\/strong>. When evening comes, you can try \u201ccremat\u201d<\/strong>, a hot traditional beverage made with rum, as you listen to the sailors sing.<\/p>\n

June 28 to July 1: Festa Major de Tossa de Mar
\n<\/strong>In Catalonia, the \u201cfesta majors\u201d <\/strong>designate the town festivals, generally on the feast day of the Saint with which the town is associated. It is on Saint Peter\u2019s Day that Tossa de Mar celebrates its \u201cfesta major\u201d<\/strong>. Balls, concerts, fireworks and sardanes: the town puts on its finest for the delight of locals and tourists alike! Don\u2019t miss the big fireworks display on July 1st<\/strong> which brings the festival to a close!<\/p>\n

Apart from the prize-giving ceremony, you can admire the works that are created. They remain on display in Tossa until the end of the summer season.<\/p>\n

Throughout the month of September: \u201cCim-i-Tomba\u201d gastronomic campaign
\n<\/strong>The \u201cCim-i-Tomba\u201d is a typical dish from Tossa de Mar<\/strong> made from rockfish. To coincide with this gastronomic event, several restaurants suggest a special menu composed of the renowned Cim-i-Tomba as a first dish, a second dish and a dessert. It is the opportunity to discover the many variants chosen by each restaurant and to dive into Catalan gastronomy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From October to December<\/h2>\n

October 8 and 9: Encounter with the Sardane Dancers
\n<\/strong>This is an event that is totally typical of Catalonia<\/strong>! The sardane<\/strong> is a traditional dance that is performed as a group. During these encounters, the dancers take to the stage over two days, accompanied by different orchestras.<\/p>\n

October 13: Sant Grau country festival
