You\u2019ll find daily boats and ferries (many times a day).<\/p>\n<h2>Fuengirola<\/h2>\n<p>Animal lovers, come to the\u00a0<strong>Biopark<\/strong>, which is in the middle of Fuengirola. In the authentic Moorish castle\u00a0<strong>\u201cSohail\u201d<\/strong>, you\u2019ll get into a medieval atmosphere, especially when actors in original clothing play live performances. Also the kilometres long shopping streets and shopping centres are a true pleasure to fanatic shoppers.<\/p>\n<h2>Marbella<\/h2>\n<p>The heart of the Costa del Sol is the\u00a0<strong>bobo\u2019s world<\/strong>. From the centre of Marbella till Puerto Banus, you\u2019ll find \u201cglitter and glamour\u201d everywhere.\u00a0<strong>The Golden Mile<\/strong>\u00a0is the Broadway of\u00a0<strong>luxury houses<\/strong>. Before Marbella became famous because of its jet set and yacht harbours, it was a calm and rural village. The rural area of Marbella proves this. There, you\u2019ll find the Moorish defensive walls, small houses at the\u00a0<strong>Plaza de los Naranjos<\/strong>and a maze of small alleys. Dal\u00ed lovers, you\u2019ll certainly have to visit the Avenida del Mar, between the park Almeda and the boulevard, because there are several Dal\u00ed paintings there.<\/p>\n<h2>Mijas<\/h2>\n<p>This picturesque white village on the Costa del Sol is formed by 5 city centres: Mijas Pueblo, las Lagunas, la Cala, Riviera and Calahonda. In Mijas Pueblo, it\u2019s as if the time had stopped. And if you want to experience a unique moment in your holiday take the<strong>\u00a0donkey taxi!<\/strong><br \/>\nMijas has also\u00a0<strong>innovative and luxurious golf<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>spa resorts<\/strong>\u00a0and one of them, by the way, is the biggest golf resort of Europe, \u201c<strong>La Cala Golf<\/strong>\u201d.<br \/>\nThere are so many high lights to visit. The<strong>\u00a0Ermita de la Virgen de la Pe\u00f1a<\/strong>, a chapel made on the rocks, where there\u2019s a museum of the locals history. The bull fighting arena, which is not as beautiful and big as the one in Ronda, but has\u00a0<strong>amazing sights<\/strong>\u00a0of Mijas. And, finally, you\u2019ll find another\u00a0<strong>beautiful view<\/strong>\u00a0from the watch tower\u00a0<strong>Torre\u00f3n de la Cala.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Nerja<\/h2>\n<p>The most centric point of Nerja is not a square or a church, but an emerging rock on the coast. The famous world-over\u00a0<strong>Balcony of Europe<\/strong>\u00a0is at the end of the promenade. You\u2019ll be surrounded by palm trees, a\u00a0<strong>mountainious landscape<\/strong>\u00a0behind you and the cliffs and bays. After having a moment to take pictures, you can walk back to the cheerful and small streets. Finally, you can pass through the\u00a0<strong>Cuevas de Nerja<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>Pago del Castillo Alto.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Torremolinos<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s thanks to the Moorish tower,\u00a0<strong>Torre de Molinos,<\/strong>\u00a0from the 14th century, that Torremolinos is on the map today. This place is nowadays very touristic. Next to the 6 km long beach, at the boulevard, you\u2019ll find many bars, snack bars, restaurants and shops. Attention if you like eating fish! At the fisher\u2019s quarters,\u00a0<strong>Carihuela<\/strong>, there are many fish restaurants where you can hang out during the evening. At the Plaza de la Gamba Alegre, you\u2019ll find a tattoo museum.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Historical and charming places on the Costa del Sol<\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Costa del Sol<\/strong>\u00a0has many typical and still\u00a0<strong>virginal villages<\/strong>, just as many cities that also have preserved their purity. It\u2019s very joyful to see the different historical influences in Antequera, Estepona, Granada, M\u00e1laga, Ronda and Torrox.<\/p>\n<div class=\"readMoreBlock_2\">\n<h2>Antequera<\/h2>\n<p>In this area of the Costa del Sol, you\u2019ll find many chapters of history preserved. Antequera will impress you with its\u00a0<strong>beautiful baroque architecture<\/strong>, the rest of the Moorish defence walls and towers. Just outside the village, there are three dolmens, megaliths and the rock of love,\u00a0<strong>\u201cPe\u00f1a de los Enamorados\u201d.<\/strong>The legend is, by the way, less romantic as it sounds.<\/p>\n<h2>Estepona<\/h2>\n<p>Estepona has, since the 2nd half of the 20th century, massively grown in tourism. Nevertheless, the old village centre has remained unaffected and the fishing auction at the harbour has been preserved. An important historical heritage is the 18th century church\u00a0<strong>\u201cla Virgen de los Remedios<\/strong>\u201d. Just as the 15th century \u201c<strong>Torre del Reloj<\/strong>\u201d, which was completely restored during the 19th century. The old bull fighting arena of Estepona is brilliant. Meanwhile, the bull fighting and matadors have stopped in this arena, but there\u2019s a museum of it in front of the town council.<\/p>\n<h2>Granada<\/h2>\n<p>The Moorish student city, together with its\u00a0<strong>Alhambra<\/strong>, is a very\u00a0<strong>fascinating holiday destination.<\/strong>\u00a0The originally Jewish village was, from the 11th century till 1492, occupied by the Arabs. You\u2019ll find remains of this in the Barrio de Albayzin. The Catholicism is represented by Granada\u2019s 16th century cathedral and its jewel the \u201c<strong>Capilla Real\u201d<\/strong>. M\u00e1laga is also very popular because it\u2019s one of the\u00a0<strong>most important cities with harbour<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"Spain\" href=\"#LP_5\">Spain<\/a>. Besides this, M\u00e1laga is a modern Mediterranean city that welcomes tourism and it\u2019s an unlimited inspiration source. From the Plaza de la Marina, you can walk from the Calle Larios till the Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n. This car-free street is decorated with flowers and plants,\u00a0<strong>elegant street lights<\/strong>\u00a0and all kinds of\u00a0<strong>artistic objects.<\/strong>\u00a0In the alleyways, you\u2019ll find many shops and places to eat, like for example typical Spanish tapas bars. M\u00e1laga\u2019s cathedral and fort are absolutely worth a visit. The cathedral was built on the base of the Mezquita Aljama. Because the building lasted more or less two centuries, you\u2019ll see many different construction styles on it. Spain has suffered many wars during its history. At the foot of the Gibralfaro hill, there\u2019s a 11th Moorish fort called Acazaba. Above it, there\u2019s a beautifully designed garden and the museum of the\u00a0<strong>Gibralfaro castle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Take a well filled wallet and make sure that you have enough space in your suitcase because it\u2019s shopping time! There are so many clothes, accessories and shoes shops. Start at the Calle Marqu\u00e9s de Larios. Haven\u2019t you found what you\u2019re looking for? Don\u2019t worry, the shopping centre and the\u00a0<strong>big department stores<\/strong>\u00a0offer you a wide choice.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Costa del Sol<\/strong>\u00a0is like a very big open air museum.
