Golfing in the Costa Dorada really can be this amazing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I still have fond memories of the golf trips I took with my friends when I was younger. I remember that it was less about the actual gameplay and more about the friendships. We would visit incredible locations and I remember nothing about how I played or my handicap or anything about the game. I still recall quite vividly the laughs, the talks after the game and the incredible fun it is to play on the perfect golf trip. What\u2019s better is playing in an awe-inspiring location like the Costa Dorada. Golfing here is quite good and very worthy of a group holiday with you and your mates.<\/p>\n

In order to have a trip full of laughs, memories, and (hopefully) some good scores at the end, it takes a little planning and forethought. But we\u2019ve laid out everything you\u2019re going to need to think of before you visit the Costa Dorada for your next golfing trip with your friends. And once everything has been planned and thought of, you can simply stroll up to the course, plant your tee and drive that ball directly down the fairway to the gasps and cheers of your friends. Well, there are some things that we can\u2019t achieve with a simple blog… \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What you Need to Know about the Costa Dorada<\/h2>\n

The Costa Dorada – Your next adventure on the greens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This is the Costa Dorada, also known as the Golden Coast. It\u2019s officially named that way because of the common sights of the golden sun shining on the sand and waters. But we like to think that it\u2019s also named that because it\u2019s a veritable treasure to play golf here. This coast is located along the southern coastline from Barcelona. It includes several resort towns and little fishing villages as well. It\u2019s littered with exceptional beauty, wonderful examples of the best that Southern Spain has to offer its visitors. The beaches are just one aspect of the coast, though. The land is full of historical significance, has seen several ruling empires come through. It dates back to when the Roman officials would spend their summers along this coast some 2000 years ago. Beyond that, it\u2019s just a fun place to be, with a vibrant nightlife, great wineries, and a cuisine that will have you drooling for more. You couldn\u2019t have chosen wiser for your golfing trip to Costa Dorada.<\/p>\n

Essentials to pack on your golf trip<\/h4>\n

To avoid the embarrassment and shame of neglecting some important thing, make sure you have everything you\u2019re going to need for your trip laid out before you go. Number one, make sure you have your golf clubs sorted (if you\u2019re bringing them) as well as your golf bag. Check all the pockets for the balls and tees and scorecards that you\u2019ll need. But if you don\u2019t feel like lugging your bag around, there are numerous places to hire a set for your stay here. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bring a golfing umbrella in case you get one of those unexpected showers that could show up while you\u2019re far away from the clubhouse at hole 16. Bring a comfortable, tasteful hat, sunglasses, a towel, and a pair of smart casual pants, which should be good enough for 95% of the courses here. Most Costa Dorada golf courses are pretty laid back, but expect some level of conservative dress codes from the exclusive courses.<\/p>\n

Now, where are you going to stay in <\/span>Costa Dorada when you visit? You <\/span>could <\/span><\/i>spring for a hotel, but that comes with its downsides. Is it possible to get the whole group in the same place? That could be tricky during the peak season times. Also, hotel rooms don\u2019t allow for much nighttime chats and hangouts with your friends after the day\u2019s play. <\/span><\/p>\n

Why not consider a <\/span>private villa in Costa Dorada <\/span><\/a>that accommodates you all? You take the guesswork out of hoping that you all land a hotel together, and you get your own private space to enjoy the nights and mornings together. Plan out your days’ adventure or cap the night with a few drinks around your private pool, talking about the shots that you landed and missed. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a bonus, a private villa helps everyone keeps costs down, which could swing that one member of the group who is unsure about coming at all. You save on accommodation, you can cook your own meals, and you get the camaraderie that a golfing trip is all about. It\u2019s much more affordable than you think to have your own private villa near the courses you\u2019ll be playing at. No storage costs, no hidden fees, and no hassle sharing the place with guests you don\u2019t know. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Picking the Right Time<\/h4>\n

So, let\u2019s look at when you\u2019ll be arriving. Of course, the best time to play golf is when it\u2019s a day that ends in \u201cy\u201d, but we can narrow it down a bit more for you. This part of Spain is known for getting up to 300+ days of sun during the year. It\u2019s hard to not find a good time to come. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you arrive in the summer season, you\u2019ll be assured that you\u2019ll have great weather. The sun will be shining, the frequency of rain is far less, and you\u2019re really not going to have to worry too much about your game being cancelled or unplayable due to weather. But you\u2019re also going to have some challenges. During the months of May-August, this is the peak season for this part of Spain. <\/span>Costa Dorada especially fills up when tourists visit from all parts of the globe wanting a taste of the Spanish sun. That can drive up accommodation rates as well as make booking a tee time more competitive. If you accept that trade-off of more crowds and higher prices on almost everything, you will have a great time. Just pack a hat and some sunscreen and you\u2019ll have a great day on the greens.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you arrive during the off-season, you\u2019ll have fewer crowds to fight and the prices will all be reduced. You can have a quieter holiday without feeling harassed by the crowds and get a great game in. You will have to plan for unfavourable weather, a storm or two that might dash your plans one day out of the trip. But if you don\u2019t mind having your umbrella ready to go, visiting Costa Dorada during that off-peak season is worth considering.<\/p>\n

Exceptional Golf Courses in Costa Dorada<\/h4>\n

Now, let\u2019s have a look at some of the courses you can select from. Starting from one of the best, play the Golf Costa Daurada course, located in El Catllar. The course is surprising for the amount you\u2019ll pay. It\u2019s among the more affordable courses, but the greens and fairways are among the best in the region. Plus, you can hire a buggy or cart and grab a cheap pint after the game in the clubhouse. The Lumine Mediterranea Beach and Golf Club are two courses, both maintained to international standards. The courses are challenging, quick, and very rewarding. They are in excellent condition at any time of the year. How about the Aiguesverds Golf Club, just outside Reus. It\u2019s the 2nd oldest course in the region, with hazards, corners, and hidden obstacles in every hole. It\u2019s more suited for the experienced golfer looking for something that will test their ability and patience. <\/span><\/p>\n

Who cares if you don\u2019t hit a hole-in-one this trip? Who cares if you flub a few drives with your buddies? The only thing that matters is that you\u2019re out there with your friends with the sea and sun and the glorious courses of the <\/span>Costa Dorada.
