Lloret is of course mostly known for its exciting night life and the nice beaches, but it also has a nice old city centre with a crisscross of small streets and remains from the Middle ages. Tossa, which is in the other direction, was also founded in the Middle ages. You can still find the castle Villa Vela here with its impressive city walls. In the evening the castle lights up and offers a beautiful view. There are many excellent restaurants both along the boulevard as in the city centre. An hour’s drive to the north and you will find Figueres and Cadaques, the birth place and source of inspiration of Salvador Dali. The Catalan capital Barcelona is an hour’s drive to the south. You will be impressed by the architecture of Gaudi and all the museums. But what do you think of a visit to Camp Nou and shopping in the Avenida Diagonal and Grand Via? You certainly mustn’t miss out on these activities. If you are a little more adventurous, you can drive down to the Pyrenees from Lloret de Mar. Whether it is winter or summer time, you won’t have to be bored a single day in this part of Spain.
