1. The Mercat Municipal (market) in Lloret de Mar.

Most major cities on the Costa Brava have a large market where daily fresh food such as fruit, vegetables, fish and meat is offered, including in Lloret de Mar. In the Mercat Municipal de Lloret de Mar, you will find a permanent and covered market, with almost everything in the field of fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat, fish, spices, but also a drugstore, a hairdresser, diet food, a bakery, a bar, a florist and a beauty salon. Perfect for when you want to enjoy a delicious homemade fresh meal in your holiday home, or a cozy BBQ full of fresh ingredients.

This market is also the perfect place for buying typical Catalan delicacies. Something you should definitely taste is “mato, a traditional cottage cheese (hut cheese) served with honey and grilled almonds. Of course, the chorizo, olive oil, olives and peppers is highly recommended to taste or to take home. In that case, of course, make sure that you can keep the products fresh and, if you take it to plane travels, take into account your airline's food and drink regulations.

2. The weekly Market in Lloret de Mar

Every Tuesday, from 08:00 to 15:00, the weekly (outdoor) market takes place in Lloret de Mar at Avinguda del Rieral. During this morning you can take a lovely walk in the sun along the no less than 150 market stalls. Here you will find a nice assortment of fresh fruit & vegetables, typical Catalan products and of course fresh fish and meat. However, the range is not as wide as in the large market, but you certainly do not have to go hungry after a visit to this market?.

In the weekly market of Lloret de Mar you can also buy, besides delicious fresh assortments, clothing and accessories . Similar quality than in the shops, but much cheaper! T-shirts, (shorts), sweaters, skirts, dresses, swimsuits, towels, shoes, belts, bags, you name it and chances are that you can find them at the market in Lloret de Mar!

Of course you can also indulge yourself at the market in Lloret de mar if you are looking for nice souvenirs for home or nice gadgets for the kids. Special Market Festivities in Lloret de Mar

As mentioned, the markets on the Costa Brava are a beautiful and centuries-old tradition. This “Medieval” market in Lloret de Mar takes place every year around mid-November and, as said, brings Lloret de Mar back to its historical origins. The streets of the city are decorated in medieval times and numerous shows and entertainment are offered. The many stalls offer beautiful crafts, calligraphy, posters, decorative objects, medicinal herbs and food products, all looking back on the Middle Ages. In between your purchases, you can also participate in the city tours, magic shows, falconry and juggling

Lloret de Mar would of course not be Lloret de Mar if it does not also adapt its special festivities to its visitors. There is also a special shop event several times a year, with nice clothing stalls, which lasts until after midnight, discover Lloret Night Shopping!
