A Trip To Chinchon

Holidays in Spain

Tourists from all over the world travel to Spain for their holidays attracted by the beauties of the country.

Some want to see the breathtaking landscapes; others are very passionate about everything related to architecture, so they visit the modern cities and the traditional villages while others are absolutely fascinated by the customs and the traditions of this amazing country.

If you decide to travel to Spain but have a problem choosing the exact destination, I highly recommend Madrid. Madrid is not only the capital of Spain, but also one of the most beautiful cities in the country.

Besides the fact that the city is a wonderful combination of old and new everywhere you turn your head, it is also located in the center of a group of cities of great historical and archaeological importance for the entire region. One of the most important cities in the group is Chinchon.

Everything about Chinchon

Chinchon is just 50 kilometers away from Madrid, so it is very easy to get there. If you do not want to rent a car because it would mean a too high cost and a lot of care and attention on your part, use the bus.

Conde de Casal is the bus station from where the 337 bus leaves for Chinchon. It will only take a little longer than one hour to get there, so relax and enjoy the view because once you get to Chinchon, you need a lot of energy to do all the things that you can do in this charming little city.

Things to do in Chinchon

The first thing that pops into your eyes when you step on the streets of Chinchon is the impressive number of clustered houses which seem to guard the landscape from the top of the hills. Plaza Mayor is an important attraction of the city, with is circular in shape.

The unique feature of the plaza is represented by the galleried houses which date back to the 15th and 17th century; the cafes attract those who want to taste the delicious tapas. When a traditional fiesta is going to take part in the city, the plaza is transformed for a few hours into a bullring. The 15th century Church situated in the center of the plaza has a wonderful work belonging to the great Goya, so make sure you also visit it. Enjoy your trip to Chinchon!
