An Interesting Arcos De La Frontera
The city and its attractions
Arcos de la Frontera is situated in the beautiful southern Spain, in the heart of the amazing Jerez province. Arcos de la Frontera was originally a fortress and it developed a lot under the rule of the Moors.
The city has a very interesting location, very high above the Guadalete River; this location is a very dramatic one but extremely attractive for tourists, who love the white houses and the fantastic churches built with fine sandstones.
The streets of Arcos de la Frontera represent one of the city’s main attractions, being packed with buildings and monuments that display Moorish architectural elements and Renaissance ornaments. The heart and soul of the city is the beautiful Plaza del Cabildo which is very easy to reach for tourists as long as they follow the signs that direct to the parador.
The square has a lot of attractions; one of the most important attractions is represented by the walls of the castle and by the splendid Santa Maria Asuncion Church that displays a Gothic Mudejar architectural style. Plaza Del Cabildo is also the place where tourists can find the tourism office, a place of great interest for them as it helps them with all the information they need in a new city.

The Old Town is a great place for accommodation, because you can find a very cheap one there; in addition to the fact that you will not be obliged to spend huge amounts of money on the hotel rooms, the views in the old city are some of the most amazing in the entire town.
For example, among the options stands the Marques de Torresoto Hotel, an elegant parador that stands on a rock pedestal. The new part of the town also has a few attractive accommodation places for tourists; one of them is the Hotel Fonda Comercio, the oldest inn hosted by Arcos de la Frontera.
In which concerns the eating and the drinking, you should know that they are more expensive in the old part of the town than in the new one. However, all over the city exquisite restaurants wait for their clients with delicious local dishes and tasty Spanish flavors that nourish all your senses.
