Attractions In Valencia

One of the main attractions in Valencia is represented by the arts and sciences city; tourists will find the largest marine aquarium in Europe here (the Valencia Aquarium), the Science Museum that covers three floors, the L’Hemisferic (the ‘’Eye’’) that hosts a very modern IMAX cinema and the Planetarium and the Arts’ Palace, the place that those who love arts absolutely adore.

The central market

The central market or Mercado Central patiently waits for its visitors in the beautiful Old Quarter. The market is so popular and famous due to the fact that it is one of the largest markets in Spain and in entire Europe. The market is decorated with ceramics and stained windows and it represents the perfect place to buy fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, cheese or meat.

Even the big restaurants in Valencia buy the ingredients they need from the central market. Outside the market, thousands of flowers of different shapes, sizes and colors wait for their buyers, offering a show like not many others in the world.

The beaches in Valencia

Since Valencia is a Spanish city, it would be difficult not to have at least one beach where tourists can relax in the sun, enjoying the fine sands. The difference between these beaches and those situated on the other coasts of the country is that they are covered with beautiful, white, delicate sands instead of golden sands. However, they are absolutely stunning and deserve your attention. Try the Las Arenas beach and the La Malvarrosa beach, both situated very close to the centre of Valencia.

The La Seu Cathedral

The La Seu Cathedral is one of the most beautiful monuments in Spain; you will find it in the centre of the spectacular La Reina Square, somewhere in the Old Quarter of the city. You should visit it as it hosts the oldest museum in Valencia, a museum where tourists have the chance to see the Holy Chalice and the Holy Grail of the city.

Other attractions

El Micalet is the outstanding bell-tower attached to the spectacular cathedral; after you climb its 207 steps, the view of Valencia that appears in front of your eyes is absolutely breathtaking. The Santa Catalina Church also deserves your attention; you will find it in the Old Quarter, just like the La Seu Cathedral. Also worth visiting are the La Lonja and the Institute for Modern Arts. Enjoy!
