Beaches of Costa del Sol

Costa del Sol is an area placed in the province of Andalusia in the south of Spain. Its name means Coast of Sun. It has beautiful wide beaches, and more over, its coastline is divided into the west and east coast.

West Coast

Western Costa del Sol stretches 100 km west from Malaga. Tourism is the most developed in this part of Spain. Furthermore, it is highly urbanized part of the Spanish coast, where most foreign tourists come.

Playa El Cristo

Playa El Cristo, near Puerto Deportivo de Estepon, is a famous sandy beach. It is placed in a sheltered bay, where you can find two bars with live music, showers, and a big parking lot. It is very crowded on weekends. Above all, it faces the west, so it gets the maximum utilization of the sun.

Puerto Deportivo de Estepon

Puerto Deportivo de Estepon has about 60,000 inhabitants. It offers a wide range of restaurants and cafes. However, nightlife is not very well developed. Therefore, it is the ideal place for family and senior vacation.

San Pedro

San Pedro is 1 km long beach. It is located in San Pedro de Alcantara. It is 10 km from Marbella. Night life is developed. The beach has dozen bars. East from San Pedro you can find two trendy nightclubs on Victor’s Beach and Babalola Beach. You can find here excellent accommodation in hotels with three or four stars. However, there are private apartments at your disposal.

Playa Nueva Andalucia

Playa Nueva Andalucia is placed near Puerto Banus. It consists of 4 small bays. Each bay has its own restaurant. Traffic jams are common, but the beach is clean and regularly maintained.

Puerto Banus

Puerto Banus is the name for the beach and the marina in Marbella, where the rich and famous come. Marina was designed by architect Jose Banus in 1970. The opening was attended by then known celebrities, such as the Aga Khan, Roman Polanski, Hugh Hefner, as well as young Julio Iglesias, who sang for an enormous sum of 125,000 peseta. In 2004, marina got one new element – a statue of Hippo dressed in lace. It weighs three tons. The statue was made by Salvador Dali.

East Coast

Eastern Costa del Sol stretches 55 km from Malaga to the east. It is the point where the mountain wreath Sierra Almihara meets the sea.

The most urban part of this area is Costa del Sol Nerja. It has a very pleasant climate, several fine beaches, and pleasant accommodation.
