Costa del Sol – Heaven for Wildlife Lovers

A lot of visitors travel Andalucía’s Costa Del Sol in order to enjoy the wildlife variety it has at different natural reserves, marinas, parks, zoos and the aquariums that it hosts on the inland and the coast.People who are interested in the wildlife conservation considers Costa Del Sol to be a good base as they can find a great variety such as crocodiles, wolves, whales, dolphins, tigers, sharks, penguins, giraffes, flamingos, deer and many more animals in different marinas and natural reserves.

These nature reserves, zoos and marinas are close to the coast and within easy reach. These places offer world-class opportunities to come across animals and watch their activities closely.

Doñana – World Famous Nature Reserve

Donana National Park is considered the most renowned wildlife and bird watching area in Spain. The Nature reserve is stretched to 1300 km² of area and is located near the delta of the river Guadalquivir. This natural reserve is made up of five different ecosystems. 30 km of pristine beach gets washed away by the Atlantic creating marshlands, the homes, green Vera, forest and in lush green area.

Doñana national Park attracts large number of migratory birds to its flooded marshlands for breeding. Waterfowls can also be seen here. In fact, endangered and rare species of wildlife animals are also encouraged to breed and are also provided with protection and sheltered area. Iberian Linux and Imperial Eagle are indigenous to this land.

Selwo Adventure

Estepona’s Selwo Adventure Park has been made out on a jungle theme and contains animal that are housed here from five continents of the world. Elephant, lions, tigers, partners, bears, birds of prey etc. can be sited here. You can also go for Camel ride tour and watch and colorful birds Canyon which is a special attraction in the park.

Fuengirola Modern Zoo

This park has no cages or bars and is considered a modern-Day zoo. A special re-creation of a tropical forest has been done in the zoo and different animals have been housed. Visitors can have a clear view of animals in the jungle atmosphere from the glass partitions. The specialty of the zoo is its night visits that the authorities of the zoo hold during the months of July and August.

Lobo Park

This part allows you to watch wolves from a close up wandering in the natural environment just outside Antequera which is a beautiful mountainous area in El Torcal. Four different species of wolves can be seen here which are the white Tundra Alaskan wolf, the Canadian timber wolf, Iberian wolf and the European wolf.
