Out of the all countries in southern Europe, Spain is the most visited one. With all its known coasts and beautiful islands it has always been at the top. Menorca is one of these famous islands; having its capital at Mahon, it amazes the tourists with its magnificent panoramas. In the north east of this place is the old part of the city; the cobbled streets and the small houses are the main attraction here, but you should know that in the neighbourhood of this area you can also visit the church of Santa Maria which dominates Constitution Square. Another popular church in Mahon is Esglesia Del Carmen; its exterior is in huge contrast with its interior. Valuable paintings and artefacts are found here, so it is worth visiting. The great Museum Of Menorca is placed near to the San Francis church.
Extremely unique and rare artefacts are kept inside this huge museum. Beginning with some old coins, maps and strange sculptures, they all are wonderful pieces to visit and admire. It is not only a historical place, but also the best place to have a good drink. Xoriguer Rum is produced close to the most popular museum in Menorca, so between visiting a church and entering an old museum, drink some tasty rum.

The harbour is one of the largest in the world and the marina of Mahon contains many valuable ships.
