Places of interest in Spain – Marbella

A part of Andalusia province, Marbella is known for its beautiful beach and some of the most spectacular buildings. Normally those who visit Andalusia should never miss this town ‘Marbella’ which is popular for its natural beauty.  Now, let us go round his beautiful town.

Castle:

This is our first place of visit. This castle is believed to have been constructed during the period when Moors had established their civilization in Marbella. Perhaps this is the only building belonging to Moors’ era that has been preserved even to this day. This immaculate building is also known for its outstanding architectural work. If any visitors miss this castle, certainly he will be missing a great piece of work.

Old town:

The narrow cobbled streets and buildings many of which are centuries old speak of the history of Marbella. Interestingly the old town retains its past glory even to this day; balconies filled with geranium, buildings whitewashed, a typical 16th century architecture etc. The restaurants have not lagged behind in their effort to keep the 16th century tradition. They serve traditional food in their cozy accommodation. Once you are in the old town, you just slip to 16th century.

Church of incarnation:

This church called as ‘Iglesia Mayor deSanta Maria de la Encarnacion’ in Spanish language is located in the heart of the city. The square where this church is located is beautifully laid out with gardens, fountains and with many intricate works of sculpture. Now, coming to the church, it is a masterpiece work. This flawless structure receives the highest number of visitors throughout the year. According to historians, the church was constructed in the year 1505 and some renovations were made in the years 1712 and 1756.

Bonsai Park:

This is a famous park in Europe. Plants from most part of the world are grown here. There is a training center where people are trained in Bonsai cultivation. Admission to the Park is during specific hours.

Safari Park:

Visitors are advised not to miss this park. This is a unique safari park in the entire Europe continent. Over 100 hectares of treacherous tall mountains where animals from different part of the world have their habitat is something amazing to see. The visitor can see the animals in their natural abode. Vehicles are available to go round the park. Those who have fascination for adventure sports can enjoy trekking etc, of course under the guidance of a trained guide.
