Time for a vacation
A moment comes when you really need to escape from your daily activities and take some days off; it is high time to enjoy a wonderful vacation. Spain is one of the most visited countries in the world.
With all its wonderful landscapes and amazing cities, this country will surprise you more and more as you get to know it better. Mallorca is a famous island in this Iberian country having Palma as its capital; this island has very clear water and fine sands.
The beauties of Palma
As it is the capital of Mallorca, Palma is the place where you can find everything you need: nice bars, interesting shops, historical places and wonderful beaches. However, the one which dominates the entire centre of Palma is definitely the cathedral La Sue; built in a Gothic style, it is the main attraction of the area.
It dates back for centuries and Gaudi was the one who reconditioned it. In the western part of this historical building you can find the crowded Sa Llotja; the narrow and cobbled streets next to the colored houses and small squares will lead you to a dream life. Here you can relax and enjoy the specific drinks and taste the fabulous tapas.
The harbor will offer you amazing panoramas! It is also the area known for its agitated nightlife, night clubs and crowded parties. You should join at least one of those parties and dance the specific flamenco or passo doble and make sure that your vacation is a real Spanish one. The History Museum of the city is housed in the Bellever Castle.
It is a huge building that leaves you breathless. In the past it used to be the palace of the King, then it was used as a jail, and nowadays it holds a great collection of historical artifacts and valuable relics. Here you can also admire the proof of the past presence of the Moors, the Romans and the Phoenicians; they all had a great influence upon this place. The Museum of Contemporaneous art is also worth visiting, especially if you are an art lover; works of great painters such as Picasso and Dali are housed here.
How to get there?
Mallorca has its own airport, so it is very easy to get there. From the airport, there are lots of buses that lead you to Palma. All you have to do is to book months ahead as it is very crowded, especially in the summers.
