The famous Costa Blanca is the one that hosts the charming village of Algorfa. The village has the cultivation of citruses as its main occupation, exactly like most of the villages situated on the Costa Blanca. The history of the village

The Neolithic Era is the time when Algorfa began to be inhabited; an Orihuela archeologist discovered the first evidences that sustain this theory in 1903: tools and even human remains dating back to 3000 BC. Algorfa officially became a village in 1328 with the help of Alfonso II. During the centuries the village suffered a lot of damage but Carlos IV ordered its restoration.

You will also be welcomed by a very friendly Mediterranean climate with temperatures which do not go under 19 degrees any day of the year. The village is formed of a fantastic Square where you can visit the village’s Church and the amazing Town Hall.

The police station is also hosted in the Main Square which also represents the location where the fiestas and the traditional Spanish celebrations take place. If you are interested in sightseeing, do not limit yourself to the square; also go to Rojales to see the cave dwellings and the Palace belonging to the Fontabla Marquis. The Mata y Torrevieja Park is also worth your interest.

Algorfa is definitely a place for active persons; the village has a spectacular recreation centre where tourists can practice swimming and tennis, even squash. Children also have an area dedicated to their needs and entertainment. Golfers will also be happy as an 18 holes course is situated in a very picturesque location surrounded by lakes. Even though the village has no beaches, you will find some spectacular ones in its vicinity.
