The Daurada Coast and the Ebro Delta

The Daurada Coast is not the most beautiful coast in Spain, but it definitely has some of the most delicate and golden sand in the country making it a very attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.

The cosmopolitan Sitges is known as the seaside resort for the gay community, Port Aventura is the perfect destination for families with children and the Ebre river delta is the second largest delta in the Mediterranean.

Sitges
Sitges is just half an hour’s drive from the Barcelona airport; tourists from all over the world love the city because of its nudist beaches and invade its coffee shops and bars. Its reputation increased in the 1960s when an artistic movement was flourishing, a movement opposing Franco. The past of Sitges was tumultuous.

A scandalous carnival is still held every February, continuing the violent tradition of the city. The most edifying window on the history of the city is the Museu del Cau Ferrat, once the house of the eccentric paintor Santiago Rusinyol, where tourists can admire paintings and artwork made of wrought iron.

Places to visit on the coast
Just eight kilometers away from Tarragona is Port Aventura, the most thematic park in Spain. Rich in moments full of adrenaline and places where tourists can have fun, the park is perfectly adapted to the climate and is ideal for someone who has kids.

The list of family resorts continues in the south, where the Delta de l’Ebre, formed on a swamp, is full of small places having their unique characteristics. The swamp is partially situated in the Parque Nacional de Donana, a natural reserve great for walks, the perfect place where you can breathe fresh air and enjoy the beauty of nature.

For those who love nature, the list of sightseeing places continues with the Eco Museu, the museum dedicated to the flora and fauna in the region.

Accommodation
Of course the region is full of hotels. However, they are very stiff; if you want to feel the spirit of the region, if you want to feel that you are in Spain, choose a villa. Villas have private owners and some of them even offer cooking services, so besides the fact that you will be able to relax in a comfortable, private and picturesque place, you will also have the opportunity to taste the delicious Spanish cuisine.
