1. Relax on stunning beaches

Lloret de Mar beach

The Lloret beach is the most central, and the largest beach of Lloret de Mar, meaning it is easy to reach and is accompanied by many facilities. Parasols, sun loungers and even hammocks can be rented here, plus there are plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can have a refreshing drink or some lunch. Looking for a more active beach experience? There are also sports facilities and water-based activities available here. The Lloret beach is very popular which can mean it gets crowded in the summer, but also ensures that visitors will never spend a dull moment here!

Fenals beach

Fenals beach is along the Lloret beach, but the two are separated by a strip of land covered in pine trees. This beach is 700m long and considerably narrower than the Lloret beach, but is still the third largest beach in Lloret de Mar. This beach is ideal as it is much less touristy and offers some calmer, natural areas whilst still providing facilities and places to eat. This somewhat quieter beach is the ideal option for couples and families, and anyone looking for a bit more peace and privacy.

Santa Cristina beach

Looking for more peace and quiet? Head to Santa Cristina beach. This beach is a little further away, however this allows you to enjoy more calm and nature, away from the noise and traffic of the centre. It is the ideal beach for escaping the city in high season and for enjoying the natural environment of rocks and pine trees. Despite this peace and quiet, this beach still provides many amenities such as showers, lockers, parasol hire and places to eat. The Santa Cristina beach can be reached by car or by boat (only in high season).

Sa Caleta bay

Sa Caleta is a beautiful bay with fishing boats lined up along the sand. Located at the northern end of the city’s central boulevard, this bay is one of the most special places in Lloret de Mar, a beautiful combination of culture, history and nature. It lies at the foot of a hill, upon which the impressive Castell d’en Plaja is situated. You can easily visit the castle from the bay, and the steep steps leads you to a lookout point with a spectacular panoramic view over Lloret de Mar. Fancy snorkelling or diving? The turquoise and transparent green waters here are perfect for this. Furthermore, La Caleta is the starting point of one of the picturesque Caminos de Ronda trails which leads to the small yet beautiful bay, Cala Trons.

2. Discover the area along the Caminos de Ronda hiking trails

Caminos de Ronda is a walking route, stretching no less than 583 km along the entire Costa Brava. This route, also known as GR-92, runs from the French border to the Ebro Delta. Lloret de Mar is home to two beautiful stretches of this trail; a route with beautiful views over the sea from La Caleta to Cala Trons and a second route from the south side of the Lloret de Mar beach to the rocky Cala Banys, which also provides breathtaking views out to sea.

3. Visit the awe-inspiring Sant Romà church

The church of Sant Romà has a typical gothic Catalan style and lies right in the centre of town – so it is impossible to miss whilst visiting Lloret! The striking exterior, with colourful mosaic roofs and modernist turrets, is a real eye-catcher and contrasts with the sober but colourful interior.

4. Discover the Santa Clotilde Gardens

The unmissable Santa Clotilde Gardens have a spectacular clifftop location with a view over the sea and the Costa Brava. In addition to the breathtaking view, fountains, marble sculptures as well as a variety of exotic trees and flowers can also be enjoyed here. These romantic gardens are almost 100 years old with a classical layout and Italian-inspired elements. Santa Clotilde are considered some of the best historical Mediterranean gardens in Europe and are easily accessible from the Fenals beach.

5. Dive into history at the Iberian ruins of Puig de Castellet

Puig de Castellet is a 2,300 year old settlement from the first inhabitants of Lloret de Mar and is of great historical importance. Tours can be taken to discover more about the ruins and their history. Furthermore, the site is also a great place to enjoy a panoramic view over Lloret and Blanes.

6. Enjoy the vibrant nightlife

Lloret is of course well known for its bustling nightlife, so anyone looking for an authentic Lloret getaway should make sure to include it on their itinerary. Eat delicious tapas on one of the many terraces, enjoy a refreshing drink in a local bar or dance until the early hours at one of the lively clubs and bars: the entertainment on offer in Lloret is wonderfully diverse and caters to all tastes.
