Alicante And Its Fascinating Fogueres

Spain is a beautiful country: it is one of the few countries in the world where diversity makes the rules. There are not too many countries in the world that can be proud of being as diverse as Spain. Any type of tourist will find something interesting to do in Spain because the country has high mountains but also low valleys and stretched beaches, it has modern cities and small, cozy traditional villages, hundreds of museums, theatres and concert halls and many tourist resorts that will help you enjoy the perfect holiday.

The hardest thing to do in Spain is to choose the exact destination, because there are thousands of places that deserve your attention. If you have already decided to visit Spain but have not chosen the destination yet, I strongly recommend Alicante.

About Alicante

The sunny Costa Blanca is the coast that hosts the vibrant Alicante, one of the most popular and famous holiday resorts in Spain. Alicante is a city that never sleeps, a city that enjoys the perfect Mediterranean climate and a very complex resort, with hundreds of opportunities for entertainment.

Alicante has stretched beaches covered with delicate sands; it has old, narrow, cobbled streets; beautiful theatre halls; modern shopping centers and last but not the least, an exquisite collection of museums. A tourist who loves the different architectural styles, the cultural background of the countries he or she visits, the traditions, customs and the art will find in Alicante a heaven on earth.

A few interesting details about Fogueres

Fogueres is one of the most interesting museums in Alicante, one of those monuments that has to be on your ‘’must see’’ list. It is a very unique museum, having a very modern aspect as it is very colored. It is actually the most colored museum that Alicante has and it celebrates something very special: not an art style, not a painter or the history of the city, but a fiesta! Do you know what fiesta it celebrates?

It celebrates the San Juan bonfire festival, one of the joyous and colored festivals of Spain held in June. During the festival, hundreds of figures are burnt on the streets of Alicante and the museum displays a very nice collection of those that were not burnt for different reasons. You will find it open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, starting at 10 a.m. and finishing at 8 p.m. and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
