You may be allowed 2-3 days of unlimited travel that you can do within a month. In fact commuting via train is the most economical way of moving inside the country.

It is a good idea to start your backpacking vacation with Basque region. This area is quite budget friendly and it gives the opportunity to discover the area that is nestled between the Pyrenees Mountains and is home to Pamplona and fans the San Sebastian, the area where Running of Bulls have its own aura. From here you can move around other places such as Cataluña, Barcelona, Andalucia and Madrid which is the Spain’s inland.
