A day full of thrills in Port Aventura

Fancy going on an adventure? From Llore
t de Mar, take a trip to the largest theme park in all of Spain.

Port Aventura is an unforgettable experience. Have a fun-filled day out with your family or friends.

Port Aventura: the “Spanish Disneyland”.

Port Aventura is just south of Barcelona, between Tarragona and the seaside resort of Salou. The park was built in the mid-1990s and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015. The park covers over 120 hectares filled to the brim with fun and entertainment. Besides Port Aventura, the site is also home to the Caribe Aquatic Park.

Make your way to one of the five separate areas of the park: the Far West, Mediterranean, China, Mexico and Polynesia. All of these are within their own universe with the vegetation, catering, attractions and entertainment all centred around the principal theme.

The Sésamo Aventura area is different: it has attractions that are primarily aimed at little ones.

A trip out with your family or friends

A trip to Port Aventura will make everyone happy, whether you’re on a familyholiday or with friends.

There are several train rides and other land or water rides for small children. “El huerto encantado” (the enchanted garden in Spanish), is perfect for them as it has a wide range of activities and rides especially suited to little ones.

If you are a bit bigger there’s even more to do. Adrenalin junkies can launch themselves into the eight loops of the Dragon Khan, the park’s flagship rollercoaster. At Port Aventura there’s plenty more for speed freaks. The Hurakan Condor launches you into a 100 metre freefall and the Furius Baco accelerates to an incredible speed within only a few seconds. If you are completely fearless, you won’t resist the challenge of the highest rollercoaster in Europe: the Shambhala. We’re pleased to say that the park has plenty of quieter attractions that are still a lot of fun: the Grand Canyon Rapid for example. Jump into a rubber doughnut with your friends and navigate the waters of the Grand Canyon!

Port Aventura also stages plenty of entertaining shows. All around the park you can see Maori dancers performing, ladies doing the can-can or you can watch acrobats showing off their skills. There are also theme nights throughout the year. At Halloween there’s a Horror Parade, not fogetting the Christmas parade and in January, that of the Three Kings.
