It was an important medieval kingdom born of the struggle against Muslims, and in modern times was built in the crown of Castile, though maintained its own laws.

This independent community preserves a wide variety of ecosystems. It can be divided into several zones: the mountains to the north, the valley of Baztan with the most characteristic area of the Pyrenees and the Sierra Aralar Urbasa on the west, the valleys and Arbayún in the center, and the Ribera Del Ebro, in the South, with the flat, fertile Tierra Estella. Navarre has more than 50 natural areas, among which are the Integral Reserve and Natural Park Lizardoia Señor de Bértiz.

The history of Navarre has been marked by the border situation with France and its status as a separate kingdom from the great medieval Spanish kingdoms. The result of this story are all the monuments that can be found in various towns, places such as evoked Roncesvalles, the wall of Artajona, Estella or Olite (villa with a large medieval castle).
