Spain is a paradise for tourists. Yes, it is truly a paradise. If you visit Gran Canaria, you will certainly agree with this statement. This is the most populous of the Canary Islands. Located in the northeastern part of Spain, the other two islands adjacent to Gran Canaria are Tenerife and Fuerteventura.

About the place:

People who go on holiday normally prefer the beach or a mountainous place so that they can enjoy quiet living in the midst of nature. Gran Canaria has everything a tourist demands. The place is rich in flora and fauna. The golden sand adds color to the already beautiful nature. In fact this is called the ‘miniature continent’.

Gran Canaria is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Interestingly the beach starts almost at the foot of the mountain. It is a wonderful place to see.  Just climb up the mountain to see the beautiful sea and the vast stretch of beach. Stand on the beach and see the high mountains looking majestic and inviting you to stay longer.

Places of interest:

It is really difficult to decide where to stay, whether on the beach or on the mountain. The tourist can spend his time by just wandering in the narrow roads of the village. Most of the buildings in this village have been built in the traditional Roman style.

There are places to visit in the neighborhood. The beach offers the best of water sports. Or you can go mountain climbing. The beach is the best place for walking. In fact these beaches are well maintained.

Just about 4 kilometers away is the Firgas where the tourist should not fail to visit de las medres where water is collected from the natural spring and bottled. This flawless mineral water is in great demand in Gran Canaria and in many of the neighboring places.

Moya, the valley of the volcano, is another interesting place to see. Neo-Romanesque church and the parish church are the other two churches which should not be missed. Don’t forget to taste the cake in this town; cakes made here are so delicious that you will certainly enjoy every bit of it.
