Some Interesting Places And Events In Spain

The Roman Theatre in Malaga

Malaga is one of the most beautiful cities in the Costa del Sol with a handful of attractive places that can make anyone appreciate the history of the city. One of these sites is the Roman Theater, an example of the traces of civilization left behind by the Romans. This monument is located at the foot of the hill of the Citadel and was discovered in 1951, but it is more than 2,000 years old.

While the Romans used it as a traditional theater, the Muslims who inhabited the area turned it into a quarry instead.  Despite the passage of time and the ignorance of the existence of this place, much of it has been kept safe and that’s how today’s tourists are able to appreciate most of the Roman theater, like the area of the “orchestra” with over 13 steps and the “proscaenium.”

If you are staying in hotels in Malaga, the Roman Theatre can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 am and 19 pm, except on Sunday when visiting hours end at 14:30 during the winter. Another option is to visit it in the evenings when visits are very peaceful.  At night you can enjoy this magical place in the light of the stars.
