Travelling Stunning Costa Brava By Train

Costa Brava is known for its incomparable natural beauty. The place is crammed with a number of historical and cultural treasures that offer plenty of outdoor and sports activities for all those who want to indulge in active holidays. The sandy playground is perfect for all those who are seeking some exciting water adventures, peaceful sunbathing and enjoying the picturesque Mediterranean villages. The coastline stretches from Blanes, all the way to the French border and Cap de Creus.

The rocky shore in Costa Brava is marred by jagged cliffs, small and hidden coves where great smelling pine woods are scattered near the shore such that their branches are dipping into the sea. This sets a perfect mood for a romantic vacation.

The inviting mixture of long sandy beaches, mountains, plains and tiny coves has attracted a number of travelers and artists alike. The best way to travel Costa Brava is by using the low-cost train system. RENFE train system of Spain is an easy and efficient way of getting around.

Firstly, you need to find a ticket station. You can also log on to the RENFE website and book your tickets online. Alternatively, tickets are also available in the orange vending kiosks that stand ahead of the turnstiles of RENFE stations. Go ahead and select destination and departure by selecting and pressing button on the kiosks. You will also need to choose between Regionales or Grandes Lineas.

The Regionales system is much more localized and also has greater number of trips on all days. You should look for the most direct route for any destination on either the RENFE website or RENFE map. In case you want to travel between non-adjacent cities then you should go ahead with using the Grandes Lineas. But it is important to book your tickets in advance if you want to travel with the Grandes Lineas. Being long-distance trains, the service can be pretty full at times.

Whichever service you use, you need to enter the turnstile by making use of the ticket. Retain the ticket with you as the train conductors might check it at any point on the room. You can follow the directions that are there on the platforms or printed on the ticket. You may board directly as soon as the train arrives. It is advisable that you learn a bit of Spanish before touring so that your journey does not suffer.
