Holidays In El Toyo

Spain is a country in Europe which is visited by millions of tourists from all the parts of the globe; every year, people choose Spain as their holiday destination because it is a place that meets the requirements of any type of tourist: national parks with lush vegetation for those who love nature, high mountain peaks covered with snow all year long, warm seawaters and calm beaches in the seaside resorts, cosmopolitan cities and amazing villages that struggle to keep the customs and the traditions of the country alive.

El Toyo is one of these holiday destinations that people love. Unlike the great majority of seaside resorts, El Toyo does not enjoy a rich history, because it was built in 2005. The government decided that the beaches situated near the Retamar resort, which is a very popular resort, had to be exploited, so the luxurious El Toyo came to life.

El Toyo is now a very busy resort due to the fact that it is very accessible: you’ll find it just 13 kilometres away from Almeria and 6 kilometres away from the airport, so there is no the traffic congestion to contend with which sometimes occurs especially during the peak season.

The attractions of El Toyo

Once you step on the streets of El Toyo, you will feel like stepping into heaven. The resort is so beautiful, that words can’t describe it properly. Gardens occupy 35 acres of the resort, being the perfect refuge from the hot sun which tends to be unbearable in the afternoons.  In El Toyo, there is no need to worry about the heat: you can take a refreshing walk through the paths of the gardens which are guarded by high palm trees; an artificial lake creates a romantic atmosphere and for those who prefer being active, an 18 hole golf course is at your disposal.

The promenade is also a major attraction of the resort, as it is the place that offers some of the most beautiful views in the area. The southern part of the resort hosts the luxurious private villas, but if you visit the famous Plaza del Mar, you can taste the local cuisine in one of the many restaurants that are to be found here. The beaches are delicate, covered with fine sands and bathed by warm waters, so nothing should stop you from visiting El Toyo.
