If that’s what you have in mind, the small village of Cadaqués and the natural park in Cap de Creus are just ideal!

Cadaqués: a sleepy fishing village

Nestled between the mountains and the sea, Cadaqués is a typical old fishing village on the Costa Brava. Its small quiet streets lined with whitewashed houses will bowl you over the moment you set eyes on it. Enjoy the peace and have a walk in the village or on the seafront.

The geographical location of Cadaqués has allowed the village to remain somewhat unspoilt by tourism. Until the 1950s in fact, its only access was by sea. Nowadays you can get there via a windy mountain road.

On the seafront there are several small craft and souvenir shops as well as a number of restaurants. In summer, at dusk, the Catalan accent fills the streets.

If you go a little further by car or on foot, to the north of the village, you will reach Port Lligat. In this other small fishing harbour you will find Dali and Gala’s house-museum.

The wild open spaces of Cap de Creus

Cap de Creus: “Into the wild”

Cap de Creus, the Cape of the Devil as the fishermen call it, is the easternmost part of Spain. Since 1998 this point has been a natural park with a very rich ecosystem. It is in fact one of the largest natural parks in Catalonia. You can admire the superb mountainous landscapes in an end-of-the-world atmosphere where old castles are found alongside hermitages. Right at the end of the cape, the old lighthouse has an Eco museum. Here you will enjoy the view over the Mediterranean and you can breathe in the reinvigorating sea air.
