What is so unique about Extremadura
?

For any place to be the hub of tourist activity there are certain criteria; its location, natural beauty around, facilities available and places of interest in the vicinity. Extremadura has all these criteria. Located in between the great provinces Badjoz and Caceres, it has a long history. Caceres was first found by Romans in the First Century BC.

When the influence of Romans declined, Visigoths invaded and they caused mass destruction of the province. Later it was Moors who rebuilt the province. Surprisingly Caceres has buildings reminding of all the different stages of its evolution. There are also many buildings said to belong to the 16th century. Perhaps there is no other place where a person can feel the touch of different stages of evolution starting from 1st century BC.

The place of interest for the tourist is the birthplace of Francisco Pizarro which is in the town called Trujillo, about half an hour drive from Extremadura. Trujillo has two great museums which depict the evolution of the city and art and painting works belonging to different periods. One can see the beautiful fortifications around the city.

There are many churches built centuries ago and the most imposing beautiful domes of the churches. The other important place of visit for the tourist is the Plasencia Bridge said to have been built in the 12th Century. There is a cathedral convent said to have been built in the 15th century. The construction is so stunningly beautiful that even to this day the painting, masonry works and mural works in the convent remain intact.

Apart from this, there are rows of mountains, parks, rows of shops, restaurants and apartments and villas in all these provinces to offer the most convenient stay for the tourists.
